Customer Testimonial

I visited your sugar bush when I was in Ottawa for a visit this past March and bought some of your body lotion at the gift shop.  I usually have a problem with dry cracked feet and have been using a cream recommended by a doctor in the past. Recently I have been using your product on my feet and have been more than pleased with how soft the soles of my feet are! I just ordered another supply from you and intend to keep using it. Bonus -- it smells delicious! ...Sylvia Eddy, NL

Description and benefits

MAPLE SAP is the liquid that flows from the SUGAR MAPLE trees in our forest when we tap them in the spring. The sap is a product of one of nature's beautiful cycles unique to our part of the world: rainwater falls from the sky, is absorbed into the soil, picking up nutrients and then drawn up into our majestic maples through the roots. The sun's energy creates the sugar in the sap through photosynthesis. This sugar is the energy source for maintaining the life processes necessary for the tree's survival during the dormant winter period, and to allow new growth in the spring. We carefully tap our trees to extract the sap, which we use for everything we produce on our farm, including our maple syrup, maple food products and our new bath & body care line.

To produce MAPLE SYRUP, the sap is boiled down until the right consistency is reached. About 30 to 40 litres of sap is required to produce one litre of syrup. Before the syrup is bottled, it is strained, which captures particles called MAPLE SUGAR SAND. When the syrup is boiled down even further, MAPLE SUGAR is the result. There has been extensive research into the beneficial properties of MAPLE.

Pure MAPLE SYRUP is composed of balanced sugars, minerals, vitamins and amino acids which make it unique from other sweeteners. The majority of the minerals which make up MAPLE SYRUP are potassium, calcium, magnesium and manganese, and the vitamins include niacin, B5, B2, folic acid, B6, alpha hydroxy acid, biotin and A. Among the important findings in the research being done is the fact that putting it on our bodies, as well as into our bodies, is good for us in many ways. The same beneficial ingredients are found, in varying concentrations, in all of the maple ingredients - maple sap, maple syrup, maple sugar and maple sugar sand- used in our bath & body care line.
