Shirley’s Scribbles – Spring 2021

Shirley Fulton Deugo
By Shirley Fulton, 4th Generation Owner

Well the 2021 season is a wrap! It was unlike any other.

My pancake flipping arm is feeling quite rested and confused. For the first time in 50 years the griddles were off. We thank you for being willing to cook your own pancakes at home, our breakfast bundles proved to be a great gift and/or a new pantry staple for yourself.

But we sure had fun reinventing a multigenerational family business! Innovation and change have always been a large part of Fulton’s survival since the 1840s…but this was one of our most dramatic changes since we built the first 12 seater pancake house in 1969!

With the help of the whole family and staff we pulled off a miracle.

Our Maple Farm Store came together thanks to amazing farmers and food producers across Ontario. Our customers showed the love by shopping local and we appreciate your support a  great deal!

Our maple syrup production was lower than normal but Scott made delicious maple syrup in all four grades!

We thank you for embracing Fulton’s transformation.

What’s next? Some much needed R&R for family and staff. Then on to serving in-store customers, our online and corporate orders and stocking shelves for our retailers and Spas.

Now let’s start planning…..The only constant is change!
