Cheddar Biscuits

PREP TIME: 15 mins | TOTAL TIME: 30 mins | SERVINGS: 4 biscuits


140g all purpose flour

10g baking powder

1/8 teaspoon table salt

1/8 teaspoon baking soda

15g butter

15g vegetable shortening

120g whole buttermilk

50g shredded cheddar cheese

30g butter

80g Fulton’s Jalapeno Infused Maple Syrup

115g icing sugar



Preheat the oven to 450F and prepare a baking sheet with a light non-stick spray.

In a medium bowl, mix flour, baking powder, table salt, baking soda, butter and shortening until combined and crumbly.

Gently mix in buttermilk and cheese until dough just comes together.  A few dry pockets of flour is fine.

Separate into 4 biscuits.

Bake for 15 minutes.


In a small saucepan, melt butter and maple syrup until simmering.

Remove from heat and whisk in sugar.

Glaze will harden quickly.  Reheat as needed to apply to baked biscuits.
